Rocker Cover Rivet help

Post by tjw89 »

I know this may seem a silly question, but in my head it makes perfect sence. Can somebody tell me the size needed for the rocker cover plates, but I am after the old style ( rivet ) ones were the is no hole in the middle. For that classic look.

Thanks
Tim

They are called "solid rivets" and are used extensively on airplanes. My '63 Land Rover used them but the newer ones used "pop rivets" (with the hole)
Just measure the diameter of the hole.
Installation is by holding a hammer on the shaft end and hitting the head with a properly formed drift. The head has a larger diameter, so the shaft will deform to a flat button.

5/32 you will need a snap the same size to hold the head whilst hitting the tail. Rivets seem to come in packs of 100.
