Wot wok????
Trying to assemble my 'S' engine and gearboxes and I have a selection of alloy flywheel housings and their respective covers. Can somebody tell me which one I should be using ie part numbers and where I will find these part numbers. I am going dizzy trying to figure out which one is the correct one. (1964 970 S and a 1966 1275 S both on 333 gearboxes) Many thanks.

Re: Wot wok????
I can give you the part numbers of these items, the clutch housing cover (wok) is 88G300, I'm sorry I'm unable to tell you where to find that number but it is identifiable by having a timing hole with removable access plate. Dimensionally the covers for the non verto & verto are identical, but later ones had no timing hole.
Same again with the clutch / transfer gear housing, the part number 1959 - 1968 is 22G999, identifiable by the small idler gear bearing (i.e. not A-plus) & lack of a breather at the top. The information I have suggests that the same casing was fitted to the 850 Mini, 997/998 Cooper, 1071/970 & 1275 Cooper S. I think that the breather type casing appeared first on some of the works Minis, I seem to remember that GRX311D had one.
I hope this helps & maybe someone with greater knowledge will join in.
