Brake Bias Valve - help

Post by tomkidd »

How do folks

When installing a Brake Bias Valve from new, where should I have the brake bias valve set to then fully bleed the system? Should it be all the way in? All the way out or in the middle?

Also should it be mounted so the inlet is higher than the outlet?

Usually bled with the screw / knob all the way in. If you're bleeding with an assistant to press the brake pedal, be sure that they don't press hard, otherwise the valve will shut off and no fluid / air will come out.

Best mounted with the Outlet higher than the Inlet to get all the air out.

Cheers spider, how do you mean about pressing hard? Do you mean all the way down or pressing too fast?

Tom, yours isnt a compensator valve it's a fluid restrictor.. Unscrew it all the way out so the valve is open! Closing it will restrict the fluid. I think spider was mistaking your bias valve for the standard compensator valve housed under the subframe.

In that case, then yes, unscrew all the way!
