swiveling sun visors

Post by KA2S4 »

I just got a pair of these from newtons and now i'm wondering about the clips.

My car has no holes for the clips above the door, and may never have as its only 30 cars after the quoted change point,
but the holes near the r/v mirror are round, is this correct?

Still have no clips at present

If it's a late '64 you could have had the earlier side clip (?) as seen in this thread :

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4252&hilit=sun+visor+clips

..but should still have had a screw hole I'd have thought. The front holes on the '65 cars were square like the side ones, not sure about a crossover one.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for that, after looking at some pics of the shell before it was restored, I am now certain that the side clips were not fitted to my car for some reason.

As i said my car was very early in the swiveling sun visor phase, and it also has the holes with the captive nuts for the earlier centre mount visors, but I know it had the swinging ones because i have an early photo of the car with them in.

So i'm now on the look for some clips for either side of the R/V mirror, i'll post an ad in the wanted.
