Speedwell Wheelnuts

Post by gpmini »

Found two sets of Speedwell wheels over the weekend. They differ slightly, one has a smaller hole in the centre. Apparently the one with the smaller hole is an earlier (Mk1?) version which was more difficult to balance.

What wheelnuts do I need for these wheels, and who supplies them? Minilite and Rosepetal wheelnuts are a little too fat to fit the Speedwells, whereas they do fit the JAP and D1's in the photo below. If you have a set of the required centre caps (for any of these wheels) that you'd like to part with, please pm me :) . Replicas/copies are fine, as I imagine originals will be rare.

Thanks Sandro for help with the nuts and centres.

Deviating slightly from the original post, isn't it interesting how the JAP, D1's and Speedwells are all very similar. Do any other 10" wheels also use this design?

Australian Tasman alloys are very similar.

Picture borrowed from the Mini wheel dictionary.
