Went along last year to have a look and was planning to go again this year but have messed my dates up so can't make it.

Oh well, car isn't finished so hopefully next year i'll be along as a participant instead of just a spectator. :D

Dad's going along though to have a look about so anyone with a Mk1 that see's an old chap checking out your car it maybe him. My mate Dougie will also be there again in his carbon mini (as below), not a Mk1 and certainly been played about with but a frienldy chap to have a chat with.

Have a good run all those going and fingers crossed the weather improves :)

Aerial view of part of start line up at Crystal Palace a couple of years ago.

Event Details:

The closed lower public car park at Crystal Palace creates a bit of a problem this year for those picking up tickets without going inside CP park onto the terraces.........It is possible to head to Brighton with just your L to B postal ticket joining run from somewhere convenient, this will gain you entry onto Madeira Drive for Mini/MINI only parking and you can then pick up and sign for your run pack and t-shirt/plaque from the LSMOC stand later on Madeira Drive, as they will bring any unclaimed packs from Crystal Palace. At Brighton you may need to visibly hold up your ticket without the run plaque on display (there is a ticket tear off section for each end) and maybe tell marshalls your plaque fell off on the M23 just to keep things simple, should they try to direct you away from Madeira Drive!
On nearing Brighton it is usually best to divert off around the town centre avoiding the traffic jams and approach Brighton seafront and Madeira Drive from the racecourse, Brighton Marina side. (Also make sure you have a good clutch and cooling system...........the AA/RAC are usually pretty busy on the day!)

Thanks MAB01UK. Great info.
We are camping tonight and fully committed now. Does anyone have any tips on best places to camp? I think they have sold 2500 tickets so might be a stampede in the morning. Would like to be well placed for this in the morning for a quick getaway (and so I don't get flattened by any pimped Minis wit' neon lights and 22 inch spinners.... :D )
I would also like to keep my relationship intact with my poor partner as she has agreed to come along for the weekend.
Any advice appreciated. Cheers. Mark
