Blyton AD10

Post by Pete »

Only 8 weeks until AD10, it’ll soon pass! Got your cars ready?

We always need volunteers to marshal in the morning so please stick your hand up if you’re prepared to help!

Engine back in and running this weekend, only front wheel bearings and CV boots to do. Only fly in the ointment is a hernia operation in a week's time. The jury's out on whether I'll be fit in time or not, but I'm taking a positive attitude and assuming that I will be fit.
I was supposed to be converting a big van into a motorhome before Blyton, but that's now firmly on the "do it later" list.

Mine won’t start. Think the plugs are gone.

Excellent. We can’t just rely on Jan and John as we always have, John’s mobility isn’t great. Ideally we need four marshals to make things run smoothly. Fingers crossed we get the use of the grassed areas this year to take the pressure off a little. 🤞

Still looking for anyone who can help marshall the paddock / parking for a couple of hours. It’s highly likely we’ll have use of the grassed areas this year which will make life easier but without Jan and John the year it’ll be a struggle to marshall this event without a couple of new volunteers. It’s fair to say if we don’t get the help we need this could be my last Blyton.

If you can both get there as early as possible that’d be great, we have high viz and radios. Track cars start rolling at about 7.30 so no late night!

Sorted for marshals now hopefully. Just to let you know we’re already off to a good start with £672 raised from the very generous sale of two cancelled bookings by Barry Stenhouse and Graham Carter plus from the sale of a tuning kit kindly donated by Chris from Crafted Classics Tuning.
Don’t think this amazing weather will last til Sunday but still looks very promising. Better be cos the Mini ice cream van is booked!

If it’s for you message me and I’ll post you one out. We’ll see how many we sell at Blyton and maybe will offer some up after, I’ll keep you all posted!
