Steve McQueen in London riding a Triumph motorbike in front of a Mk1 Cooper, from the looks of it. Still counts as a Mini photo!

Re: Just a nice period picture
I think the motorbike is a Tiger 100SS, 500cc twin with standard two into one exhaust pipe, finished in Kingfisher Blue/Silver, built early sixties, probably 1961-2.Highnumbers wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 10:47 pm Steve McQueen in London riding a Triumph motorbike in front of a Mk1 Cooper, from the looks of it. Think it maybe even slightly later when McQueen was over here to compete for the US in the International Six Day Trial held I think in East Germany, yes he was that good a rider! As he famously said, ‘ life is just the bit in between waiting for the next race’ something along those lines methinks! He epitomised coolness, a true icon

Re: Just a nice period picture
I have heard the photo dates to 1964, which would all make sense. I think that’s the same year he raced the ISDT tooJasonking wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 10:11 am Think it maybe even slightly later when McQueen was over here to compete for the US in the International Six Day Trial held I think in East Germany, yes he was that good a rider!
