early mk1 steering rack problem

hi folks got quite a lot of lift on the left hand side of the steering rack can anyone tell me if there is still a bush? available or any recomendations,on repairs :?: dont fancy pulling it to bits again :!:

It does sound like the bush. I'm not 100% familiar with the MKI UK racks, but I know at some point, felt was used for a bush. I've always replaced these with Bronze bushes that I make. There might also be some Poly Bushes getting about (to suit these racks), but these dry out in the oil (go figure) and crumble to bits. Not pleasant.
