Variations on the speedwell dash

Post by gs.davies »

I was looking on here for a thread which went into detail on the variations of the speedwell dash but can’t find it.

I’m collecting a dash from a fellow forum member at Blyton and was trying to identify exactly what it is.

Very similar to the speedwell design (I.e a veneered plank of ply that wedges itself between the top rail and the centre of the parcel shelf. The sides come down to the same level as the centre though, not ‘cut off’ higher as on the speedwell.

Any ideas?

Super accessories did a few different ones, all similar (but different) to the Speedwell.

Unfortunately the word “Speedwell” has been used so many times it’s ignored by the forum search engine

There must have been 5-10 different versions on the style made by different companies in the 60’s and 70’s. I think one of the “mini mod guides” that was on the mk1-performance site had a few too
