Dribbly carbs
I have a small patch of residue that has dribbled from my drivers (O/S) H4 Su carb over a period of time. It is a sticky gummy residue and it lands on the bulkhead crossmember. I have also noticed that the damper has much less oil in than the opposite carb and I wondered if anybody has any suggestions as to what needs replacing or renewing. They were rebuilt by Andrew Turner and have been like this since day one. Not a major headache but something I would like to rectify. Cheers. Mark

Re: Dribbly carbs
Early H4's had a flexible rubber washer setup at the bowl-to-body joint. I altered this to a rigid joint with fibre washers after I was told the flexible joint was prone to leakage and troublesome.

Re: Dribbly carbs
Cheers Al. Any chance of some pics or perhaps more details on what making them rigid entails and where I might get the washers. If possible I would prefer to have them to hand before I remove from the car (a 66S!) and dismantle. BW Mark

It was some time ago and I cannot really properly recall but I do remember fitting different (although not unusual)banjo bolts and fibre washers. I think the banjo bolts were shorter than what was there. There was not much to it and they don't leak now.
