I saw the Robinson/Blackney Unipower at my very first race, aged only 13, the 1000km Nürburgring 1970. I unfortunatly did not take my old Agfa Isolette with me. Only the second race, the 6h touring cars that year I made some rather bad pics with it.
Thanks,
I think that was when Roland Petit had the car and ran it in a few races.
Do you have any pictures of the Blankley/Robinson car by any chance?
Many thanks
Gary
No, I'm afraid I haven't. You see, I was 13 years old and this was my first race altogether as a spectator. I had an old camera from my uncle, an Agfa Isolette ( that was probably older than myself https://www.flickr.com/photos/alf_sigaro/1799585165) but I did not take it to the Ring. Only on my second visit I took it with me. The photos weren't good but still a historic artefact now: http://touringcarracing.net/Pages/p%201 ... gring.html
Here is a well known Irish Marcos, that a mate & I rebuilt over a few weeks in the winter of 97/ 98, when we lifted the chequer plate bolted on to the floor pans the car was virtually in 2 halves so we stripped the shell, hung it upside down from the roof beams of an industrial unit & repaired the shell.
When I 1st looked at the car with a view to getting it to handle & drive well it had RWD Escort wheel fitted.
This photo is from Fermoy hillclimb in 98, a round of the dunlop hillclimb championship.
The other 2 photos of the rear of the car are from the late sixties IIRC

I like it. Although on this long Nordschleife track I prefer the monstrous E21 or M1-Beamers, or the 930 Turbo-Porsches.
In the early 90ies my ex-boss (of infamous HIOB-Motorsport) bought Gerhard Berger's former 635CSI race car (one of the "art-car" works BMWs) after it had stood in a barn for some 10 years. We managed to start it and he even drove to nearby village to pop-in and show it to his pal. The sound was pure eargasm - I wish I had the funds to buy it back then for the bargain price of just 200,000* Austrian Schilling. Sadly as an apprentice and havin just wasted all my money in a lumpy Porsche 914 I had to pass...

Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s
