I know. I can't believe my luck. I placed a wanted ad a couple of weeks ago and got sod all response save no chance as uber rare.
I'd have paid well over 200 as I badly wanted one for my mk3 S.
I don't need a base as its going on the shelf.

I also had been searching for a long while for one, and finally found one on ebay, but I wasn't lucky enough to get it anywhere near as cheap as you. Here's the one I won, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300701120056

Can you tell me if there are any special bolts or fittings that hold the tach into the pod?
I can see they're made for Smiths by the various specific holes. Does the tach studs poke through the back to be afixed by the standard nuts?
I've nicked a pic off a Jap site. I can't see anything sticking out save the bulbholder.
