They seem to have changedto the now more common onlineshop look, away from the old MS explorer design. I liked the old vintage look, but hey - times they are a changing....
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s

Re: New Minispares Site
It’s going to take a while to get familiar with it but the earlier website in my opinion was much easier with everything laid out on the left hand side column. …. Shirley

Re: New Minispares Site
Simon @ Minispares has posted on TMF that there will be some things not online on their new website immediately. Some products don't currently have the manual drawings yet but they are working on these. Also says to give it some time whilst they iron out any issues:-

Re: New Minispares Site
Agreed but often these changes are forced upon people and companies with no choice, due to 'outdated' software losing any future support and a new updated version being rolled out..part of the reason I recently took retirement from mechanical engineering as i could not face anymore 'software updates' which usually added lot of new bugs, pointless extra bells and whistles, moved or deleted many useful functions for no reason, required expensive 're-training' courses and appeared to be designed by people who never used the CAD software package hands on doing real work!Polarsilver wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 4:58 pm so why change what works .. perhaps a good excuse to put up prices

To be honest I did use Autocad a lot in the 1980s to the very early 2000s. Great software. But I did know how to use a pencil or pen to plan and draw things. Those were the days.

To be honest, I think its pretty good, my guess is they were being pushed to change it by the technology…..its not something you do lightly, its too expensive.

Re: New Minispares Site
I was unable to log in initially as a new password was required. The function to send email link to change password was not working so no emails received. This has been resolved now.
I use the site daily for ordering, comparing prices and quoting work and have to say the new configuration is far more difficult and time consuming to navigate through.

I like the fresh look to it but like everything, it will take time to learn to navigate it as well.

Re: New Minispares Site
I still prefer the somerford site and I often get the part number from before searching on Minispares..

Re: New Minispares Site
Yeah good point, Somerford site is excellent for tracking down part numbers. They also seem to stock a lot more of the obscure stuff that other places including MS don't hold in stock.
I find both these companies very good to deal with.

Re: New Minispares Site
I like the way you can hover a mouse over the interactive part diagrams/drawings and get all the details of a part appear (ie. Part No./Description/Price/In Stock/No Longer Available).
eg. Radiators (without fan switch) and hoses 1959-92:-
