Can I buy a refurbishment kit for my MkII rack? ... and where, please?
Or will I have to obtain a new rack ? Again, opinions on the best source welcome.
I have heard some disturbing rumours about the quality of currently available items so any pointers towards a quality item would be happily accepted.
Cheers, Ian

Re: Mk II Steering racks
I beleive that there was a shortage of "new" steering racks up until about a year or so ago.
They are now being manufactured again and I recently bought a brand new rack from X parts/ Rover.
Very different to look at compared to the usual "Cam Gears" type we are used to, a lot chunkier.
As for how good they are, I can't say as yet because It's still waiting to be fitted to my project.
Quinton Hazell used to supply the rebuild kits, but as for availability today, not sure.
You will need a few specialist tools, Churchill, when replacing / repairing the rack ball joints etc.
Not much help I'm afraid, but that's about all I know about steering racks Ian.

Re: Mk II Steering racks
Thanks. Mk I racks are pretty well catered for Down Here but MKIIS just don't exist... There are a couple of people who could sort it but parts are the issue.
Cheers, Ian
