That’s pretty much a carbon copy of what was done to my 988 Cooper at some point. Rear lights hacked out for mk2 ones and the brocade interior dyed black.
Triple C magazine printed a helpful article on cutting out the Mk1 rear lights to update to Mk2 which inspired me back in the day....also Halfords sold black upholstery paint which did a good job of updating the old fashioned Mk1 coloured vinyl interiors! (see my photos in link below). I still think you can't beat the look of a period modified black Mk1/2 Mini with black Shadowlite windows and really wish I had not sold it to upgrade to a Mk3 with winding windows!

Thanks to Mr.Sparrow of this fine parish my Mk2 S has period tinted glass...

Amazing how many engines you see for sale for big money but absolutely no sizes of anything stated on the ad, ie the most important info that you need is missing. Looks like +60, horrid box repair ….

Is the seller Kevin K. aktive on the forum here too? On Facebook he seems to offer some rare stuff for sale from time to time.
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s :ugeek:

That looks a little beauty. Hard to see how the restorer made any money out of that.

Original 2013 Bonhams Auction details:-

1959 Mini Register - Morris gallery:-
http://1959miniregister.com/1959-mini-g ... allery=102

A friend of mine bought it at the original Bonhams Auction in 2013 mentioned in the MCR article above for £6000 + fees.....at the time that was a lot of money for a 'barn find' '59 Mini. My brother then fully restored it for him with some help and advise from me retaining all the early features where possible and for a reasonable budget. Very near final completion of the restoration the owner then decided he needed to sell.....the new current owner had some further finishing and detail touches done before they too seem to have decided to put it on sale earlier this year at £31,995 on ebay....since then it has been reduced to a perhaps more reasonable £26,995.

I’ve followed that eBay seller for a while, he seems to always have a stock of very expensive metal, for instance below, eBay seems an odd place to sell a £300k vehicle….
