fuel gauge issues

Post by ekjken »

Evening everybody.Hoping for more advice please.I have fitted all the appropriate parts to my 1960 Mini,I hope,to get the fuel gauge working properly.I have a 1970s type fuel tank, with the twist-fitting sender unit,There are now in place a voltage stabiliser and a new later type fuel gauge. When the ignition is turned on,the needle moves nice and slowly as it should, taking 12 to 15 seconds to traverse the display. The problem is the tank is only one-third full but the gauge shows full.Any thoughts, please?
