That's interesting Thorp....... Are you saying that that the steel casing has bulged outwards? Is it leaking?

The steel casing has rusted through/split, and the rubber has bulged out under pressure and split; there is a fluid weep.

To be fair, I had noticed the metal wasn’t looking very well a while back, but the car has barely been used for a few years due to lack of time other than moving between garages during a house move.

Based on the TMF thread linked below it is interesting to note that many of the Mk4 changes started to appear in later Mk3 bodyshell production BEFORE the full transition to what is now defined as a Mk4 shell.

The speedo might be Minor too it only goes to 90.

It's a very weird advest isn't it :? Same seller has a 998 Cooper for sale which looks quite decent - and that has plenty of photos, so why has this one not?? Also various high end cars and accessories. Very odd.

I think that Island Blue / OEW '66 Cooper was on car&classic a while back, looks very familiar.
