Twin HS2 Carburettor spring support bracket

Post by 1967coopers1972 »

Hi just looking for some advice I have searched the forum but not been able to find any answers, I have bought a Maniflow exhaust manifold but after fitting it I have found that the spring support bracket that attaches to the bottom of the heat shield is being fouled by the centre branch, it looks as though I may have to alter the heat shield to make it fit, any views appreciated thanks.

I had this on my car, which is fitted with a Maniflow Freeflow.

I used a stack of washers to space it out so the bracket cleared the manifold. A neater solution would be a piece of thin pipe cut down into a series of spacers.
