Stick on number plates .

Post by monkeyjim »

Hi All.

Can anybody recommend a supplier of stick-on front number plates ?
I require a black-on-white square one now and will want a white-on-black square or possibly a oblong for a 60's car in the future .

I see some of the oblong ones go out of shape a bit around the ridge in the bonnet .

I have used Framptons in the past and they are great for the correct spec standard plates relevant to vehicle year of manufacture .
They supplied a square many years ago , however I was not that happy with the characters , they did not look right .

I would appreciate any recommendations on supplier , style and thoughts on the oblong .

Cheers.

Hand painted always looks best (if you have a steady hand!)

I think the high streeet shops who do vinyl signage for vans and Taxis can usually do them in your choice of font / size, but many, perhaps correctly these days, won't due to the tighter laws on the supply on numberplates.

Yes the painted ones do look good . :D
A race spec Elf on Rosepetals that seems to turn up at the Miniworld action day at Castle Combe every year has a painted rear one at least .
Dont think I could do a painted one , being in the trade I may find someone with the steady hand . To be honest I am most likely going to have vinyl ones .
The trainer and trackie brigade of sticker guys down my way are not really the type to understand how a period 60's stick on plate should look on a Mini and I think getting the correct look is important.
Officially a company supplying number plates needs to register with the authorities . The garage I work for has to register with the supplier in order to supply the workshop customers.
