Classic insurance

Post by Pandora »

I'm just starting to look into getting quotes for the van, and I've not done it online before (I have for the modern daily) - is there a decent on-line price comparison website for classic insurance? I tried the Money supermarket one, but it only recognises mini saloons and travellers, not the commercials. I remember years ago having a bit of a challenge with getting quotes on commercial vehicles as a domestic user.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I'd forgotten what a pain it used to be ringing round Flux, Lancaster etc giving them all the same info (and most, if not all of the mods.... )

FYI I've just used One Click insurance.
Seems simple and the premium was much lower than 'the recognised' insurers.
Simple website and instant cover.
Not connected in any way to them.

When looking on the Hagery Valuation Tool site ..look at the valuations showing ( but dont think they show Vans ) ..at the end it will give a outline cost for the year.. whatever best to ring them ( my current Hagerty underwriter is with Axa & never had an issue with modifications they just ask for photos & one showing cars inside the garage to get the agreed valuation ).. they were very agreeable that i can store cars on the one policy at different address locations .. my thoughts with any agreed value Classic Car Insurance is if a "Total Loss ".. in the event of a vehicle total loss is then residual value of the wreck (who decides that ?) as it is a deduct from the total pay out should i decide to then keep the total loss wreck.
