Hi, pondering my next engine and was wondering if anyone had experiences of big bore long stroke motors in road cars ? any experiences welcome. Thanks

Loads of torque , easy to drive , need to have gearbox , drops , diff etc to be strong . Would recommend 1460 ( 73.5 bore / 86 stroke as best combination , give,s that extra bit of metal between bores than 1480 ( 74 / 86 ).

My old long stroke (73.5 x 83 stroke) gave just under 1400 and was VERY torquey, gave a real kick in the arse when the the loud pedal was pushed. My current short stroke will climb hills at a pace but really needs to be revved, is crap out of slow corners and may well be coming out at the end of the year to go back to 1400.
