Appreciate suggestions as to the best method to restore a genuine Minifin rocker cover.
The chrome cap will need new chrome.....that may be an issue,
The cover itself is dirty....no pitting...just years of grime etc.

Re: Restoring a Minifin rocker cover
Seen all sorts of things from elbow grease and autosol/ autoglym metal cleaner.
Also seen people using wire wool to clean it all up and make it less corroded..
Depends on the finish you want. Lots of people doing vapour blast cleaning these days..

Have it Hydroblasted. It will look brand new.
And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Re: Restoring a Minifin rocker cover
Had a few hours spare today...decided to try the autosol treatment.
First, degreased with Gunk....then, started with a medium, wire wool and autosol.
Repeated the process a few more times using a finer grade wire wool and more autosol....and of course...lots of good old elbow grease.
Was able to get the two screws out of the breather....cap is in for chroming.
Looking rather nice....my new decals are ready...at last. Will post final pics after they arrive.
