I don’t, but would be interested to know what the issues are as might consider putting my 18 year old son on mine..

Re: Insuring a young driver
Age seems to be the biggest issue…under 25 it seems there is no chance
Cheers

It was some years ago now but Footman James were very helpful with insurance when my daughter was a teenager driving a 1960s car. Her premium was actually cheaper than insuring a small modern car at the time but things might have changed.....
Worth a try though

Re: Insuring a young driver
Marmalade Insurance in Peterborough are said to offer a young drivers policy which sits on top of the existing parents insurance as a separate thing.
Whether it works on a classic car I don't know.

Agree today things have changed .. yet back in the day .. the solution with our young driver with his MG Midget he was the named Policy Holder & his Old Man the other named driver . also what helped get his Insurance was a Certificate that he had passed a Defensive Driver Course..that extra training in HP cars after passing the L Test.. well worth my money as it helped him get the needed confidence into how a car handles & stops.

Just a thought. Have you had a word with the Starter Motor people at Bicester Heritage who encourage young enthusiasts as they might be able to guide you. I also think the Morris Minor Club encourages younger enthusiasts so they might know.

Re: Insuring a young driver
I had no issues putting Adam on my classic car policy from the age of 17. He was allowed to drive some, but not all. Anything standard or perceived as "steady Eddie" was fine. Highly modified Mini's less so.
We have been so happy with their services, I transferred everything over to them a few years ago & he is now insured to drive anything on the list. Next step is for him to start his own classic policy. FJ will be our first port of call.
