Could anyone tell me where on the 'engine side' the engine earth strap is attached (I can see the fixed nut on the inner wing).
Thanks in advance...

Re: Engine earth strap
It is fixed to the clutch end cover...the first bolt under the starter . Make sure you have cleaned the paint off the area on the cover. Use a good bolt....also cleaned and a star washer under the strap. Can't emphasize enough how important it is to have a very clean area on both ends of the strap....including the wing.
Same applies to the area in the boot where the cable attaches to the body. Poor grounding is a menace...causes all sorts of issues.
Cheers

Re: Engine earth strap
Thanks Dermot, presumably the thread on the bolt provides a clean earth route (with a new bolt and spring washer) and thread cleaned with a tap - surprised by it being the clutch cover - does it earth through the aluminium cover?

Re: Engine earth strap
yes it earths well enough through the clutch cover. I add a bit of copper grease to all these connections.
