I have started to go through, my massive collection of engine parts, and think it is time to put some of it together
I did find these 3 Gordon Allen cranks in my cellar, must have been there for about 30 years.
1. Ultra short stroke 58mm "S" type crank, will make 999cc with 74mm pistons but needs 2mm shaved of a 970 block with 970 rods.
2. Short stroke 71,50mm "1300" type crank, 1214cc with 73,50mm pistons needs 5mm of the top of the block.
3. Short stroke 76.15mm "S" type crank, 1293cc with 73,50mm pistons needs 2,50mm of the top of the block.
Which one would you pick as your favorite
Gordon Allen

The temperature is -15 deg. C over here, so I will try to grow a beard to keep warm.

Re: Gordon Allen
I just shaved, thanks,,,,,
If you are thinking of building something for competition, then pick the class you want to run in and build to that.
Otherwise, for street use, there's no substitute for cubic inches, so I'd suggest running with no. 3.
