I'm sure that the same Q has been asked before. But as you have a lot of good colour there, to match/identify what about using the nearesr rattle can colour, made up to suit.

Rover 'platinum' as used on the 79-80 SD1 is a close match iirc. Aerosol base coat and no lacquer.

Re: “Here we go again” 1275GT project
It’s been a bit too cold to do much but a bit near now.
Carpet and interior trim is now in. I will have to shuffle the car around to get the other door fitted. The old door seals have recovered a bit so it will be a while before they give and let the doors settle into place properly. It’s funny how they shrink in length over the years and leave you with a gap at the bottom. I will have to find a couple of short bits to add in or buy new seals. Shame really as they are in really good shape.
I might get the engine started before long.

Well it has taken a while but today the GT emerged from its cave. I think apart from some minor niggles I can say it is done. Now for some DVLA hassle no doubt.

Re: “Here we go again” 1275GT project
hi d
that looks great you have done a great job good luck with the dvla when if ever i get mine finished the fun will start to get it rego
it needs an engineers report and by that time the guy might have retired and who knows what happens then still a huge amount to get done
put the brackets on for the coil over shocks on the front and have ordered a boot lid from arc angels cheaper than steel next to get toe front shocks etc
big problem is our dollar is worth 50 p so it is not a cheap hobby over here also shipping is not cheap i can get some stuff here but is cheaper to import
need to get more welding done for engine but it is coming along waiting for special clutch release bearing to be made as the carbon one will not last on the sprint pressure plate and it goes on and on i thought this would be easy by the time i get this finished petrol will be outlawed
cheers roger

Consolidation and getting everything else that has been neglected back up to scratch. Oh and organising the work cave.
