Watched it again for the umpteenth time last night - nice to see the S is finished and up for grabs...

As it happens another car seen in the film still exists, a Mk2 Ford Cortina which is parked up in the background near the end of the film, a mate of mine spotted it at a car show several years ago. Sadly the Rover P5B Coupe 'HXC 802H' used in the film is no longer around.

Very handy site that - the scene where the croupier is strung up from his fifth floor flat was based on a real incident when one of the Kray's associates called David Litvinoff was strung up by John Bindon and Ian Barrie, a couple of tough nuts from Fulham. Bindon appeared in several films and TV series before being sent down for murder in 1979.

I drive trains under the footbridge pictured in caption 54 ;)

I liked this typical London used car lot of the era, pictured in captures 37/38....even has a Mini for sale on the forecourt with two 'go faster' stripes.

Yes you're right, I must have been thinking of one of his previous stints inside.

"Benny, you've been talking too much".

I spoke to Ian McShane about 'Villain' in 1999 at the NEC Motor Show. He was on the Alfa stand and he was surprised that I knew the film. Very pleasant bloke and in awe of Burton - who was a renowned pisshead.

It's a great film.
