Re: Practical Motorist & Car Mechanics
Classic Van & Pick-up magazine was sadly closed in 2020 by Kelsey but featured quite a few Mini commercials over the years it was published. Although back copies and digital copies are still available here:-

The long time editor of Classic Van & Pickup Ted Connolly died suddenly and unexpectedly aged just 68 in 2018:-

Re: Practical Motorist & Car Mechanics
I have a fetherin fan (practical motorist Dec 1964) somewhere in the garage, I must have a go at fitting it and see what performance gains I get.

I have just purchased the magazine from eBay for £5.99. I will see what their conclusions of the fetherin fan is.

Re: Practical Motorist & Car Mechanics
Let us know what they thought about the Fetherin fan or maybe a scan or pic of the article if possible....never seen or heard of one fitted on a Mini before until I saw the PM magazine cover image above.

Interesting many thanks for posting, 'Fethrinfan' made by Serck and sold by Alexander Engineering as agents.
I have zoomed in further on the text and rotated page to make it easier to read.

Re: Practical Motorist & Car Mechanics
Mrs Rusty likes an occasional rummage around an antique shop. To stave off boredom I look at the old tools and magazines. The picture below is a readiest from a 1971 edition of Practical Motorist. That tends to be my magazine of choice as it's what my dad used to buy and therefore what I read as a kid. I remembered this particular edition which also included a story on respraying a mini.
