Mechanical oil pressure gauge and switch

Post by gs.davies »

Has anyone got any pics of how this is plumbed in under the bonnet and a list of the bits needed? Car's only got the lamp at the moment.

I need to put an oil pressure gauge on my car as I'm still not convinced the oil pressure releif valve is working correctly but I don't want to lose the oil pressure lamp.

I used the following (Minispares part numbers for reference)
TP - T piece
OA - adapter from t piece to oil pressure line (it’s also available in a 90 degree version OAA)
OL - oil pressure line

The T piece goes in like this with the mechanical light sender in the end and the pipe on the side

And I’ve looped the oil pressure line around and back to the cabin. It’d probably be a bit tidier with the 90 degree adapter, but you may run into some clearance problems with the vacuum canister or the main oil pipe to the filter

If you need any more detailed photos I can take some more later

I’d love to have got along to that, family stuff got in the way unfortunately. Took LFF for a nice run out to Dunmow for kids football.

Whereabouts are you in Essex?
