Anything planned.......
Anyone else got any car/mini orientated plans for the weekend?
For my part, a medium sized village fete nearby with small car show. GREAT places to meet the old and bold locals who used to have Mini Coopers in the past and still have a load of odds and sods in the garage. Got a new set of OE discs, drive shaft boots and 1x new spaced Cooper drum plus a set of new, wrapped, brake drum springs last year. This year, looking for a couple of good standard wheels for my (hopefully......) next project!

Biggest mini show in Ireland up on the north coast, weather not looking good though.

Re: Anything planned.......
Always a good day out at the annual Cowley (Oxford) Classic Car Show. Meeting 8am at the BMW Mini Plant at Cowley and gently meandering down to the Notcutts show ground.
There’s usually around 200 cars with a variety of vehicles including a few interesting minis and other BMC cars.
Fun Fair, Big Band, plenty of food and drink outlets, what more could you want on a Bank Holiday?

I aim to go to the Oxford event too. An early start is planned. There is usually an impressive selection and variety of cars present. I might get the oily rag out tomorrow to give the car a wipe over

Re: Anything planned.......
I did indeed get to the "Cowley Classic Car Show" yesterday. Several very interesting cars there - as usual. A good drive too. I covered 80 odd miles there and back. I hope other forum members also enjoyed the day. I didn't take any photos unfortunately. Must do better next time. Kop Hill will be my next outingOld English White wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 4:21 pm I aim to go to the Oxford event too. An early start is planned. One of the last events of the summer at Beale Wildlife Park. Apart from the classic car show there’s plenty to do for all the family and the weather man says it’s going to be dry and bright day.

I will be racing an Austin 7 at Donington. My mate embarrassed me in my car last week, we’ll see if he adds insult to injury this week!!

Re: Anything planned.......
Oh-so-retro on Sunday in Margate.
Great show, amazing mix of..everything. sShow filed has no set parking areas, so you can see a restored pre-war next to a mk3 Escort, next to a modified A30....
Nothing pre-91 is allowed in.
Well worth a visit....

You’re spoilt rotten down south, not just Bicester but you’ve also got the big final meeting of the classic Hillclimb championship at Prescott on today, that’ll be well worth a visit, Mini Se7ens at Silverstone and Mighty Minis at Combe today.

Re: Anything planned.......
Looking forward to some nice pictures from a sunny Bicester.
I've been a few times, only the first time did we enjoy a warm sunny day !
I know its warm and sunny today as I'm digging a tree stump (trunk 18" dia) out.

Re: Anything planned.......
Yep, JUST finished the pit in my garage. House built of block and beams. Concrete base laid and beam supporting walls built. Beams cut on Friday and house is still standing - so far!!!!! Electrics done. Just LED light tubes to go.
First job....... front drive shaft oil seals
Re Pete's comment above, re Bicester. I've a feeling in my bones that maybe the MCR ought to start planning to change their summer venue to a more central Bicester. Must be the easiest place to get to in the UK
