SU Carburettor catalogue from 1960s

Post by hanlminiman »

Hello eveyone
Has anyone got a 1960s SU Carburettor Catalogue from about 1965 to 1975 which can identify early AUC choke lever numbers - as the ones I have are too modern. The one i'm looking at is from 2010 and I am on page 114 (AUC 4823).
Thanks.

I'm trying to identify a 1960s choke lever number which I can't quite read clearly at the moment but think is AUC10xx ??.

What type of carb is it off? If you could post some pictures that would be great. I have two big BMC SU parts lists so should be able to come up with an answer

Thank you everyone.
They are on twin SU H4 and the levers in the image 5564 are horizontal and bend in line whereas AUC4817 in the SU Catalogue/site is not horizontal and the bend is down. See the Twin H4 works image.
Still trying to resolve cold start problem and think the stirrup choke connection on the levers would be lower with the AUC4817.
I've also attached an image of AUC4823 which differs in design from AUC4817.
Once started the engine runs smoothly.

Carburettor service parts list AKD 5036 (1969)

Choke levers AUC 5564 & 4817 not listed AUC 4823 used on rear carburettor on twin set AUC 718 H4 (Austin Healey 100 series BN1, BN2)
The choke levers used on the works set AUD 178 were AUC 4045's (used with link AUC 4719), which in this edition are only listed as being for Sprite (H-ANS) H1 twin set AUC 863. :) :)

Thank you Ronnie.
Your response has been such a great help. I have been able to download the AKD manual and when I take the carbs off I hope I will be able to identify the choke lever number.
Best wishes. Cliff

You will ALWAYS struggle activating the choke with that setup. Pulling 2 choke levers using the standard choke knob is almost impossible. Those levers should be absolutely fine.
