One of the snags that came up on the IMM run was the fuel pump. Whilst in the main it performed faultlessly, I now find that if there’s an extended idling period, the pump will go to sleep and need waking up in the time honoured way.
It was rebuild with a new set of points and an ethanol tolerant diaphragm.
Any idea what I need to look at to stop it doing this?

Re: Fuel pump
If you look at the points adjustment procedure, it may be that the diaphragm needs adjusted by one screw hole so that the points trip sooner. Too much the other way and although they do trip it takes more stroke on the diaphragm and may sometimes stick. Just a thought as I have found them quite sensitive to this adjustment previously.
