Re: 1275 GT thread
How much more do you pay for a one owner ? What is the premium ? And we all know they are only original once but does it make my early multi owner GT worth more ? Not bothered really just thought it was an interesting question.
Cheers Gray.

Re: 1275 GT thread
Add £10K's worth of reconditioning and that makes an expensive car.
I know of a freshly restored August 1970 GT on sale for just over half that.
The owner is ust waiting for the warmer weather.

A very expensive car i suppose the question is sympathetic recondition or full strip and paintwoodypup59 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 7:42 pm Add £10K's worth of reconditioning and that makes an expensive car.

which one would make it more desirable car
And more importantly if bought for resale would a spit and polish or more in-depth resto add much value to £38000
The best repairs go un-noticed

A full restore would surely lower the value ? considering you can buy early restored ones for less than was paid

Re: 1275 GT thread
Has anybody got a decent photo of the engine bay of an early 1972 1275GT please?
I am trying to figure out which servo should be fitted. I have a Lockheed unit part number 3232656C which looks 'right' but I can't seem to establish this as all photos I can find are grainy black and white (& often the servo is out of focus)
Also which ignition splashguard should it have. I think it should be black one with the domed section (as opposed to the flat version which I think was fitted to later cars)
Lastly when did they stop fitting the vinyl on the outside of the rear map pockets and upper A pillars.
Thanks
Mark

Re: 1275 GT thread
We asked a related question on the GT f/b page a few weeks ago, though we were interested in brake routing.

Re: 1275 GT thread
Thanks. Simon has provided a bit of info to me but from the pics you have added there are two different types. Bronze one looks like the J plate barn find car on Hydro. The other doesn't. Mine is a dry car
Did they differ from factory? Cheers

Re: 1275 GT thread
Early 12” wheel car that isn’t it. Looks pretty straight but if it’s been parked on that very damp floor for 22years it might be fairly ripe underneath. Bracken colour so should have the Sorrel interior, no interior pictures though. I had one very similar.

Re: 1275 GT thread
And so my GT has gone in for some rust repairing. Hopefully wont be too long and then ill have it back again.
Potentially thinking of building a spare S motor i have for it, which will have a little more power for the little GT.
