Marvellous! Cheers Pete, found the pics on the Javelin link now, I wasn't expecting pics from the track parade, what a super added bonus!

Thanks again for a great day!

Thanks to a recent very generous donation by Paul Davenport the total in the MacMillan pot started only 17 months ago now stands at just over £25k. Absolutely amazing, humbling and astonishing generosity. Thank you all.

What a fantastic day it was as well.
Ok, so i didn't bring a mini this time, (I'm coming to realize that substantial mileage there and back in a day, in a mini, is something I just can't put up with anymore) but what a great turnout of cars and the traders there that we often use on this forum, via facebook and online, (Gordon, Nick and the others I didn't know the names of). No shiny made in china bolt on tat to be seen :)
I said on the day that's its not often you can walk down a line of minis and pretty much go 'yeah, I'd have that in my garage' to each one..
It was very busy and I'd say the biggest turnout of non mini driving spectators? The different parking arrangements may have made it look that way, and also being in a mini normally, I'd not be walking through the car park to get in? It was disappointing to see a couple of cars ahead of us turn round when they got to Jan and were asked for a donation of a fiver to enter, WTF!! equally more baffling was the decision to presumably change their minds and come back in a few minutes later, I hope they did pay!! tight bastards
As always it was a big social occasion as much as anything, getting to meet up with old friends and acquaintances and make new ones, I did see the bearded Guru a couple of times but he was deep in conversation so I avoided getting shit for not having the spaceframe ready  . I spent a lot of my time picking up tips from the motorbike engine'd crews and those that I know do sprints / hillclimbs, all very useful for the future, and obviously trying not to drool all over Harvey's amazing car
Its definitely got its place as the premier Classic Mini only Action Event on the calendar, name me another? and I wouldn't like to see the format change, Classic Minis and mini based specials, no BMW's and no bullshit.
Huge thanks as ever go the organizing team and those who helped on the day.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think what makes us different from other Mini events is that we’re not beholding to maximising a profit or subject to any club politics, we can stick to the classic Mini theme not necessarily because we don’t like MINIS but just because we want to! I actually think it’s got as big as I ever want it to be, the right crowd, no crowding. No annoying tannoy, no VIP nonsense and no Batman outfits. Got a couple of new ideas for next year though! :P

It was a fantastic day and thanks again to Pete and Mark. I look forward to what next year brings. The cars just seem to get better. And considering the big grass area was out of action, the marshals did a sterling job parking everyone.
I was very surprised to see a BMW on track in the morning session.

Great photos Steve.

Here’s one from Ian Hitchman… not too worried about the odd non-Mini sneaking on track.

Hi there,

sorry for my late post - anyway we would like to thank a lot to the organizers. That was such a great day. The 3 of us (my mate Fred, my son and myself) had so much fun coming over from Germany bringing 3 toys to enjoy some track action. Definitively one of the best Mini events I've been to. :D Thanks to the Doc for talking us into this adventure. The roll out of the orange Marcos went pretty good. Just need to sort out the rear axle now. Unfortunately the Spoke blew out all the water after the supercharger belt did cut through the water hose to the water pump. Next thing to sort out... Anyway my SPI ran faultless and I was pretty happy that I wasn't too slow :D
Looking forward to coming back in the future. But next time we'll sort out the customs issue in advance to make sure we don't have to spend half a day in Hull habor again....

Cheers Philipp

Hi Mark & Pete
An update. No sales of my photos recorded. So no more money raised for MacMillan.
So, so sad. Just hope that if anyone has copied them they still have the Mk1 copyright across them.
Sorry guys & gals but I did want to add money to the cause and I am very upset that not one of you even got in touch.
Over & out.
Cliff

So sorry to hear that Cliff!

Thanks for a great effort, I suspect that you were stymied by Javelin providing a photographer.
