What engine casting number / date code

What engine block casting number /dating code should I have for engine number 9F-SA-Y/31357, 1275S, car build date May 1964, we fitted a thin flange block in 1981 to replace the 1300GT block fitted by the previous owner but no idea what date that is, we didn't worry about things like that then.
Where is the code located ?

A 1964 1275 S block will have the date on the front, probably behind the dynamo .

We have a few at work like that

what date is this block,is this the dating number behind the dynamo, there are no numbers on the back of the block

Thats great, hopefully it hasn't been skimmed to death, i'll get the core & galleryplugs out of it, caustic soda dipped, linered, line bored, cam bearings fitted, etc.
