WTH Have you seen this on Facebook?

Post by 641071S »

Seems very cheap. Saw it at the show, needs the usual work but by no means a basket case.

I wonder if it’s a scam using the public photos from the recent show?

I don’t know if was for sale, I checked the auction list and couldn’t find it

Who knows, but he did say at the time that he would be selling it after the show ….. maybe private sale not auction?

Well I’ve found the add and it’s by a guy of the same name who is in the photos accepting the trophy, so it’s probably legit

It’s pretty rotten to be fair so realistically priced I think.

It’s a genuine sale, for the owner to have it up at that price it must be bad!

It is always better to see stuff like that on cars. I am absolutely sick of seeing identikit rows of part perfect identical Minis. One of the biggest joys of a Mini back in their golden era was that no two cars looked the same, they all had their little idiosyncrasies & mods. If I had the urge for yet another project, I'd love to save this one in all it's hideous splendour.

I for one hope it keeps it's hump!

Absolutely agreed with you Mark! That's the fun of Mini mod! Like it or not, ugly or not, whatever 60's is just my cup of tea! Now, let me change my steering wheel to the rectangular Torino!

The first person to turn up at Blyton with a Kim Kardashian booty bolted to the back of their gleaming Mk1 S will definitely win our car of the day let me tell you that! 😆

Yes you cannot beat the 60s for souped up mini cars , some good lucking :D , some ugly :o , but anything went , all your youngsters you don't know what you missed ,get some car mags from the 60s , hundreds of mods and mainly for the mini ;) ;) , nothing uglier than this front & back from Houghton Coldwell , but if i found an old mini with these mods on and i had some spare cash i would buy it and let it go on permiment loan to car museum ect .

I prefer the 'Rob and Mandy' front end extension, which was the first and last Ridgeway Sports Conversion I ever saw at a Mini Show (The Mini 20th Extravaganza, Donnington, August 1979). Sadly it seems it was last taxed in Feb 1985 so unlikely Rob and Mandy will make it to Blyton for car of the day....

Goff I don't remember seeing any Ridgeway Conversions on ebay in recent years, so it may be rarer and more expensive than the Houghton Coldwell now!

They must have sold at least a couple more Ridgeways...
