after a long lay up the semi rebuilt engine is back in the 60
engine no is circa 39000 on a 104 cone synchro box
the cone synchro not too bad at mo and ive driven a lot worse,,even on a 22g68 but seems like i have clutch drag or primary gear drag as its bit baulky changing.. even if its running but not driving!
new clutch plate,as old un was saturated so i changed seal and stupid oil fed primary thingymob..
primary shimmed up ok,and no drag when spinning clutch plate.
gearbox spotlessly clean and car when running had a diesel flush..
to no avail
doin my skull in and im not easily beaten,,but its sent me running for the prozac ( ok ok,,not got that bad yet)
any ideas or is it just the el-crappo cones playing up,,tho ive never had gear stick baulking when im not driving it!!!!!
ive even changed sticks and retainer plates but the change is still very stiff
linkages have had both nipples greased and all ok

Re: clutch/synchro drag 1960 engine on cone synchro
Is there any improvement if you lever the clutch arm (a little) further back using a pry bar? This is a good technique to determine if the problem is with lack of throw in the clutch hydraulics.
