Hi
I am working on a twin HS2 setup and I appear to have the thinner/shallower version of the cooper S airbox. Some say its cooper, some say its MK3 S, I dont know. The thing is I struggle to find a filter that would fit this box? The GFE1038 filters appears to be too tall. Any hints?
Also, if anyone have two wingnuts for this assembly I would be very happy!

I've had both thick and thin versions of the Cooper s air filter box over the years. Both versions take different depth filters. Unfortunately I don't know the part number for the thinner filter.

The thinner filter is GFE1038 or MS 121115. Maybe your 1038's were boxed wrong? I have both here in boxes. My 1038s measure 1.66 and the thicker GFE1002's measure 1.82. Both measured at the widest point where the sealing ring is.

Thanks guys
The numbers on the fram box match, so suspect its the correct 1038 filters.
They seem to need a fair bit of pressure to fit in the box. I also notice on the k&n filter version of gfe1038 on minispares page describtion: . Does not fit mk3 S air boxes as they are shallower.

Re: cooper/cooper S airbox, thin version
The MK3 airbox is easily identified by the cut off corner. No early boxes had this. It was to accommodate the bulkhead mounted washer bottle. We used to have to butcher the filters to get them to fit, this was done with a sharp knife & we just hacked off most of the sealing ring. They fitted "ok" then.
happy days.

Ah, this makes sense! thanks Mark! The box does have the cutout in the corner indeed. I will just get cutting on the pair of 1038 filters I have then

I fitted a cut off corner twin carb Airbox to my Moke & Minispares 1038 Fram Filter elements fitted .. ok they were tight in filter element overall height but the Airbox Lid closed without distortion onto its shut & correct position.
Did consider a Trim to the overall height of the Element but this was not needed in my case.
