Hello.
I am fitting a four sycro remote gearbox to my 1071 block.
The reverse detent screw in plug situated at top of ribs on front of gearbox came with a crushed reverse light switch GAE131.
What are the components fitted underneath, clearly detent spring and plunger but anything else?
Did mini remotes ever come with a reversing switch or did it migrate from 1100/1300/Alegro.
Does anyone have a component diagram for this arrangement.
Thank you
Reverse light swich

Re: Reverse light swich
This is really helpful as it describes the old rather crushed switch, which I find still works.
The new switch has quite a different radius on the actuator and protrudes several mm.
When moderately tightened it is permanently on.
A friend of mine, Calver, found that by drilling a hole in the detent screw in plug and threading it to take
the rod change reverse switch, then bonding the two pieces so there is no oil sealpage, produces a one piece
useful reverse switch for the remote gearbox. Less expensive also.

I just used the MS switch with stock gubbins…. Worked perfectly.panda911 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 8:16 pmThis is really helpful as it describes the old rather crushed switch, which I find still works.

Re: Reverse light swich
Hi Terence
Have found some new old stock so will go with that as already tried MSC route.
Clearly I could have made a mistake but as old style switch works that is the way I will go
as have spent enough time on this issue.
Thanks again.
