Ignition Leads

Post by Fanfaniracing »

Trying to get the best of my ignition system.

So i am curious what you guys are using of ignition leads?
What are your experience?

I use copper core Leads with NGK Plug Caps.

I am thinking to try out the NOLOGY Hot Wire. Does anyone has them on their Engine?

Who uses the lumenition super blue ht leads?
I promise i won't buy another MkI...

Swiftune use Luminition blue leads p, if they’re good enough for their engines they’re good enough for mine.

Blue leads look a bit silly on a 60s mini don't they?
Any decent set will work fine you're not going to gain any extra horses from ignition leads

I’ve got the lumenition blue leads, only because I love how they look on swiftune engines! (The best price I found was Minispares when you include shipping to Aus)

The one time I drove it since I put them on it ran fine. The only real time I’ve had issues with ignition leads was with the side entry screw in leads. The later push on types have a more solid connection and a bit better water resistance

What’s the rest of your ignition system like? I’ve been reading up on ignition systems for the last few weeks and I’ve got a bunch of ideas to improve my setup

My actual Ignition Setup consists of a Swiftune CSI, Bosch blue Coil and Copper Leads with NGK Caps.

When I looked at the Swiftune Minis at Goodwood, all of them had the Blue Lumenition Leads.

I just think that it may be for easier Lead change in case of ignition problems or so...
I promise i won't buy another MkI...

Ive always used Magnicor leads as they do not interfere with my tripmeter. look at https://www.med-engineering.co.uk/magne ... g-lead-set

Copper Core HT Leads & a set of conventional points that are easy to fix. ;)
