If the seller really does try to transfer the logbook from an old van onto his restored pickup, it will only end one way. He'll lose the identity of the van & be left with an unregisterable pickup.mab01uk wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 8:31 pm Rare unused 'Mini Pickup bodyshell' bought brand new in 1979 (no pickup V5 but has an old donor van V5)....not yet on ebay but 70 year old owner is considering selling it.

Clearly it won't be just the engine if his V5C plan comes to fruition....

Pleased it's not just me. I've got a thick-flanged rebuilt engine and 'box looking for a home (shell) but thought this was £8K overpriced. I've asked the owner a few questions, like what happened to the bulkhead hydro bracket?

It has been. It's the car with the parking light stuck on the roof And the wrong/later front panel isn't it. It's been much advertised. I have a strong dislike of cars advertised with their registration numbers masked. What do sellers think they gain from that?spoon.450 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 10:11 pm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204115036276 ... media=COPY

I agree though - a rare car nowadays. It still has the stainless side trims too I think.

I think that parking light is the wrong way round… should be red to the rear?
Cheers

Especially strange considering the registration number is visibly etched into the glass on the photos. Looks like 451KTV, or something like that anyway (Nottingham was TV)Old English White wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 10:57 pmI have a strong dislike of cars advertised with their registration numbers masked. Update: after a few runs through https://www.partialnumberplate.co.uk it matches 351RTV

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
That car is on ebay twice .. one ad is price at £20,999 & the other same worded advert the price is £17,999
Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
One is a fixed price listing, the other is an auction with no bids.Polarsilver wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 3:28 pm That car is on ebay twice .. one ad is price at £20,999 & the other same worded advert the price is £17,999
A bit stupid really as you can put a buy it now price, and reserve on an auction listing. Obviously trying to avoid some fees.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
External only paint job, engine left in and lots of new under-seal underneath, not what you might expect for the price..
If it was that good you would whip out the engine and have the engine bay and bottom of the car painted, wouldn't you ?

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Tempting project. It still has the correct seats, covering on the dash top rail - even the correct ashtray. The piano-hinge rear windows look present but the seller states that the exterior trim is missing. Hard to find all that The crossply tyres still fitted suggest a car which has had little use perhaps?
I wonder if it's a car Garry is aware of?
It is hard to tell what's under all that paint but it doesn't look to be the rustiest ever seen. Obviously had some work done before, as the front panel is a late one. Maybe this was part of the accident damage referred to?
