Could someone kindly educate me on the benefits to fitting 6” conrods to a 1275 motor ?

IMHO you would get a benefit at that nanosecond of top dead centre if you had the perfect combustion chamber design,and the ignition system is good enough to ignite all the mixture.The reality is most A series are pushing a fair bit of unburnt mixture out the exhaust pipe, and that little extra burn time at TDC wont be noticeable for most people . Then you weigh that up with cost of unique pistons and rods.Cheers Lindsay

I'd sort of forgotten, but this thread reminded me about it.
A long time ago we tried longer rods on my classic race bike engine. Used the same cam and head transferred from the other motor.

Result, worse on the dyno, faster lap times.
