PLM538E started its life in UK with Mr Cooper. His daughter Sheila married a French man and moved to France.
Mr Cooper travelled to France several times with the Mini.
After he passed away, the Mini remained in France and then I bought it of Sheila in 2001. Only one picture came with the car. A picture of Mr Cooper next to the Mini, near a lake in Ireland. This picture was taken soon after he won the car, in 1967.
This week, Sheila got in touch with me to send me a picture she had just discovered. The picture was taken circa 1971/72 near Honfleur in Normandy. The church behind is Notre Dame de Grâce and next to it is the presbytary. The woman near the tree is Sheila and her husband took the picture.
This place is about 2 hours from where I live. Back in 1998, I was 18 and I found a job for the summer break in Honfleur and guess what? I found a room to stay in that same presbytary ! The room was on the first floor, it's the window that can be seen on the picture. How awesome is that !

What a coincidence, and very nice with history and old pictures of the car.
