With the Mk2 taillight conversion as they did back then to make it look newer. Now we're doing it the other way around to make him look older.

It looks as if that car has a whole later rear panel as it also has the larger rear screen doesn't it?UHR850 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 7:45 am https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325313957667 ... R4L9t_zeYA

That's a belter of a crack!
Looking slightly lower down between valves it looks like someone has already had go at welding it before. Can see porosity holes in the weld.

Not a coded welder porosity at one end and the undercut at the other end must be worse than the crack that was welded up. His close up pictures of the combustion chambers he shows two pictures of #4 and none of #3 which appears heavily scratched on the head face.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
The irony with these heater valves (there's several variants too.....) is that good quality diaphragms have been reproduced and better still, the valve is simple to strip down to replace it! Won't people ever learn...........

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Well sold wasn't it! It seems a high price, but if somebody is prepared to pay it...... I imagine he didn't simply have a failed diaphragm though. Probably didn't have the valve at all? Or it was corroded beyond repair When restoring my car I had to pay what seemed like daft money for one or two bits just in order to get them at all! Some other parts I was very fortunate with though, so it all evens out

Expensive flat pack here, apparently all early race cars were Morris.
