What if any changes to wiring connections for the fuel gauge and sender unit when
changing from positive to negative earth?

i struggled to sort a positive earth fuel gauge issue .. solution ended up exchanging the Gauge & the Voltage Regulator before it was sorted,, maybe just faulty parts was my issue... sorry its not the answer to question that you asked.

None - unless an electronic voltage stabiliser for the instruments has been fitted.
Beware.

Electronic stabiliser - would that be an after market one compared to the standard stabiliser mounted on the speedo?woodypup59 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 7:33 pm None - unless an electronic voltage stabiliser for the instruments has been fitted.

The original was a vibrator Voltage Regulator, which just had a coil and points, so wasn't polar sensitive. Nearly all the new ones are Electronic and are polar sensitive, so you may also need to swap this over to a -ve Earth type if you have an electronic type currently fitted.
