Mk1 trim........Satin Beige

Post by whistler »

My Mk1, 66 SDL has Satin Beige trim but some pieces are too far gone to revive. I can't see any supplier that mentions Satin Beige, either as trim or carpet colours.

Is this colour no longer available or have they changed the name?

Hazel nut is another colour (maybe for the carpet) that I can't find.

Looked at Newton and Optimise and some other Classic Car trim/carpet suppliers.

Thanks. Looked on their website but no satin beige. I'll have to phone them in the week.

Satin Beige is a BMC name, it is unlikely that anyone will sell a material with that name, but they may sell something that is the same, or very close.

I would take a sample to my local vehicle trimmers to see if they can match it.

If you can not get a total match then get something close and then recolour it.

Going slightly off topic ,as a retiring car trimmer i used Martrim green on my mk1 cooper which was an exact match, they also do a very good grained black for mk2 cooper but no mention of bmc on their colour cards.

Thanks Surfblue and Ian for your suggestions. Seems like my best starter option is to send a sample for fabric matching or worst case, colour paint.
