Rover Mini Cooper Locking Wheel Nut Cover Remover?

Post by Snoop »

Hello - I am struggling to find a wheel locking nut cap removal tool # KBP100040 for my Cooper. I see there are some KBP100050 tools available, however I assume these will not be the correct size?

Does anyone know where I could get the correct Rover lock nut cap removal tool from? Alternatively, has anyone come up with an alternative type or design of tool to remove the locking nut cap? Cheers

Mine broke the first time I went to use it on my brand new Rover Cooper sport. Total crap! I made a hooked piece of stainless steel, 5" long, 1/2"wide to get under the cover thinggy and a loop at the other end to get my finger into. Works a treat. I drilled a hole in it and attached the locking wheel-nut key so that they stay together.

That locking wheel nut remover thinggy told me all I needed to know about Rovers quality control. Hartwells garage here told me that it was one of their best sellers

If you want a photo, just say

I took a small screwdriver, heated the end with a torch and bended it 90 degrees.

A multifunctional tool i use for all sort's of things...
I promise i won't buy another MkI...

Thanks again for the suggestion which worked out perfectly by making up a small tool using STST strip of metal - see pic, cheers
