I am re-trimming my interior with Leather on my 1962 Classic Mini Deluxe that has a Dynamo and is Negative earth.
I am struggling to understand which will work.
Has anyone fitted a heated seat element on a Dynamo with Negative earth ?
Thanks

Re: Heated Seat element for Mk1 with Dynamo
Aaaaannndd.... the issue is ??
How much power does said heater consume...and does it care which pole is earthed ??
Presumably, its modernish so probably set for neg earth anyway.
Cheers, Ian

I am asking as the only ones I can find state clearly they are for Alternator use only.
I need a DC operated element, not AC I believe.

There is a rectifier with alternator systems that produces DC, like a generator.

Maybe they’re suggesting that a dynamo doesn’t produce enough power???
As Larry says, alternator output is DC.....
Cheers, Ian
