parking flashlights

Post by nickacb »

Hello, could anyone please tell me how to DIY wiring the cables to create an option for my mini to have parking flashimg lights?

It seems that mine (1960) only have turning flashing lights

thanx

If you get a copy of the Car Builder Solutions Catalog ( its free post to your address) there are various types of Hazard Warning Switches shown and also wire diagrams for the Hazzard installations as well as many other helping tips & drawings on how to do all sorts of jobs..and they supply a big range of parts not nessasarily for your Mini
Car Builder Catalog is something worthwhile to look at even if you dont buy anything from them.

I would never use those choc box electrical crimps as supplied in that MS Hazzard install kit ..these type crimps just cut into your existing wires they are just horrible & destroy what was a good original wire.. better to get double bullet sockets & replace the original single bullet sockets & do a proper connection job.. ;)

you could look at a Haynes manual wiring diagram for a post mid 70s Mini with a harzard circuit.

Yeah, I can’t understand why those Scotch connection things are included in the kit.
I would definitely use double bullets.

Lucas sell a hazard switch still for cars that were not fitted with them originally.

You can still find original ones on ebay from time to time.

The following link has a wiring diagram which you could use to make your own system.
